What is a JSON Converter?
A JSON converter transforms JSON data to and from other popular data formats. JSONKit supports bidirectional conversion between JSON and YAML, XML, and CSV. The conversion happens instantly in your browser with live preview, making it ideal for data migration, API testing, and format interoperability.
How to use
- Choose the target format: YAML, XML or CSV.
- Paste your JSON into the input editor; the converted output appears in the output editor.
- Click Swap to reverse the direction and convert YAML, XML or CSV back into JSON.
- Copy the result.
Features
- Two-way conversion between JSON and YAML, XML and CSV.
- CSV conversion turns an array of objects into rows, using the object keys as column headers.
- Great for moving data between configuration files, spreadsheets and APIs.
- Conversion runs locally in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
- What JSON structure works best for CSV?
- An array of flat objects with the same keys, for example [{"name":"Alice","age":30},{"name":"Bob","age":25}]. Each object becomes a row and each key becomes a column. Deeply nested objects do not map naturally to a table.
- Is JSON to YAML conversion lossless?
- For standard JSON data, yes. YAML is a superset of JSON, so objects, arrays, strings, numbers, booleans and null all convert cleanly. YAML-only features such as anchors and comments have no JSON equivalent when converting back.
- Why would I convert JSON to XML?
- Some older systems, SOAP services and enterprise integrations still expect XML. Converting lets you reuse JSON data with those systems without writing a custom script.
