JSON to CSV Converter

Turn a JSON array of objects into a CSV table you can open in Excel, Google Sheets or import into a database.

JSON

Convert a JSON array to a CSV table

Spreadsheets and databases import CSV, while APIs return JSON. This converter takes an array of objects and writes one CSV row per object, with a header row built from all the keys it finds, so objects with missing fields simply get empty cells. Text values are quoted, and commas, quotes and line breaks inside values are escaped according to RFC 4180, so Excel and Google Sheets open the file correctly. A single object is converted as a one-row table.

How to use

  1. Paste a JSON array of objects, such as a list of users or orders from an API.
  2. Check the CSV in the output editor: the first line holds the column names.
  3. Copy the CSV and paste it into a .csv file or straight into a spreadsheet.

Frequently asked questions

How are nested objects and arrays handled?
A nested object or array is written into a single cell as JSON text, for example {"city":"Seoul"}. To get separate columns, flatten the data first so each value has its own key.
What if my objects have different keys?
The header includes every key that appears in any object, and rows that do not have a key get an empty cell in that column.
Will Excel open the CSV correctly?
Yes. Values containing commas, quotes or line breaks are quoted and escaped, which is the format Excel and Google Sheets expect.
