What is a JSON Tree Viewer?

A JSON tree viewer renders JSON data as an interactive, hierarchical tree structure. You can expand and collapse nodes to explore deeply nested objects and arrays. JSONKit's tree viewer supports JSONPath copying, type-based color coding, and auto-expands the first two levels for quick overview.

How to use

  1. Paste your JSON into the input panel.
  2. The tree view on the right updates automatically as soon as the JSON is valid.
  3. Click the arrows next to objects and arrays to expand or collapse them.
  4. Hover over any node and click the copy icon to copy its JSONPath, then use it in the JSONPath Query tool.

Features

  • Interactive, collapsible tree for objects and arrays.
  • Shows the type of each value and the number of items in every object and array.
  • Makes deeply nested API responses easy to navigate.
  • Copy the JSONPath of any node with one click.
  • Updates live as you edit the input.

Frequently asked questions

When is a tree view better than formatted text?
For large or deeply nested JSON, a tree lets you collapse the parts you do not care about and focus on one branch. Formatted text is better when you need to copy or edit the raw document.
Can I see my JSON as a diagram instead?
Yes. The JSON Graph Visualizer renders the same data as a node graph, which is useful for understanding relationships between objects at a glance.
Is there a size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large documents with tens of thousands of nodes may render more slowly, so collapse branches you are not inspecting.
